We started the trip by going over the car rules with the kids. They then proceeded to break all of the car rules we had just discussed. They thoroughly enjoyed teasing each other!!
We drove for at least 24 hours straight the first day on the road. I took the night shift, and the kids slept great in their car seats, thankfully. I stopped at a rest stop around four or five in the morning and as soon as I put the van in park, I leaned over on John and slept a little over an hour.
We also had the best frozen custard in Salina, Kansas!
We stopped pretty early the next afternoon, and Jonah went for his first swim ever.

Did I know you were in Idaho? What a brave little family. That's a long time in a car.
Thats awesome you guys got to enjoy the pool when you stayed at hotels. We would always check in too late and leave too early. Looks like fun! Hey we are also getting exciting to see and stay with you guys next month! Is it okay that we stay with you? ;0) I know Andy needs to call John about it.
tara, probably not. we weren't there really long - we went for john's family reunion.
a- of course you can!! i'm glad you're coming. john just told me recently, that he heard you guys might not come!
