Food

Okay, so I gained about 10 lbs on my trip. All because of Malasadas, Portugese doughnuts. Holy Hannah were they delicious. I think we had them every day except one. Once, we had them twice in one day. I ate the custard filled kind. Always had to have two at a time. Oh my, they were so good. Sorry, Krispy Kreme, you don't even hold a candle...

On our first day, we had to find the truck. They have a bakery in Honolulu, and two trucks out and about the island. It was love at first bite.

Our regular morning stop.

Delish!

We thought this was going to be the last day we got them, but we ended up getting some the day we left too.

We really should have gotten shirts from there. The people there must have thought we were funny. She gave us an extra one for free that day.

If I could have a do-over of one thing from my trip, I would have gone to Ted's Bakery every day. It totally would have been worth the drive. This was a pineapple, macadamia nut cheesecake. Did you count the layers? There are FIVE! It tasted like a combination of carrot cake, pineapple upside down cake, cheesecake, and the yummy topping that goes on a lot of jellos. Mmmmmm... They also had this chocolate haupia pie. It was so divine!! I will be looking up recipes...

We ate at Bubba Bumps, twice! The best meals!!!! I looooooove shrimp!

I also tried Korean food for the first time ever. Not bad. Did not enjoy any of the sides however. I also tried a common local dish, Siamin. Do not likey. The noodles are fine, but did not enjoy the whole dish. The last day, Marianne's friends parents made us food that was really good too!
