September 2010 Part I

We usually like to have one last summer hurrah over labor day weekend that includes sun, water, and sand. So, we went to visit my sister and her husband, and we went to a fun lake for the day!!

Trevan was in heaven.

These are the "old people" - Ben and Marianne, are the youngest in our family, but they go to bed early, etc. so we call them old people.

Trevan loves to warm himself in the sand. He is part reptile!

It was a super fun day, and we love that lake!

I wish I was more like my mother.

She was a ray of sunshine; always smiling, so positive, encouraging, and constantly serving others. She was an angel with a heart of gold.

My mom would call me "Sunshine" to emphasize the fact that I wasn't so cheery. She often said, "Good Morning Sunshine," just to be facetious. Once, in a letter to me, she wrote, "on a good day, you are a ray of sunshine."

So, witness my efforts to become more like my mother as I try to focus on the positive, and serve others more. I want her legacy of love to live on in me.

Many women are afraid of becoming like their mother; I'm afraid I won't.
