Our door is now locked

It's funny how things change and evolve.

When Trevan was little, I loved seeing him in the morning. I loved going to get him out of his crib, and I loved when he got bigger that he would crawl in bed with us, snuggle up, and go back to sleep. There was just this excitement about seeing him and starting another day with him, even though it was 5 or 6 in the morning!!!!! (my kids have always gotten up early!)

Fast forward to June 2010...

I usually wake up to Mallary screaming at Trevan. In their room. They used to get in bed with us when they woke up, but we didn't enjoy the screaming in our room.

And, that is why we lock our door in the mornings.

I miss the snuggles in the mornings, but I can't stand the jumping on our bed and the whining when I'm trying to finish sleeping at 6 AM.

Oh, how things change...

In theory, it sounds so nice: little kids coming in and snuggling with you just before it's time to get up.

Sadly, in practice, it usually isn't that great around here, so we don't allow it either. So sad. But I gotta get my sleep. We didn't have screaming here, but our problem was that they came in earlier and earlier every morning, until once someone showed up at 11:30 pm! And since they can't seem to stay still, and we don't sleep well like that, it had to stop. And certain people were begging for breakfast at 5 am.
