My poor hands

This past weekend, I had my first paying, catering job. I was in charge of doing the fruit and cheese arrangement that was also used as the centerpiece for the serving tables.

Let me tell you a few things I learned, okay maybe just one big one... When you cut fruit for SIX hours, you should wear gloves!!! My hands were raw, chapped, and burning (and swollen) from the acid of all that fruit!! It's not like you can put on lotion to help your hands until you are done - eight and a half hours later!!

It was so fun! I was telling the people throwing the anniversary party how excited I was to do it, and they just laughed because the whole thing was a bit stressful for them. But, I was excited, I love doing this stuff!
