More on Marriage

Speaking of marriage.

Here are some Quotable Quotes I liked from the Reader's Digest this month.

"I used to believe that marriage would diminish me,
reduce my options.
That you had to be someone less to live with someone else,
when, of course,
you have to be someone more."
-Candice Bergen

"For two people in a marriage to live together day after day
is unquestionably the one miracle the Vatican has overlooked."
- Bill Cosby

"The formula for a happy marriage?
It's the same as the one for living in California:
When you find a fault, don't dwell on it."
-Jay Trachman

"A happy marriage is the union of two forgivers."
- Ruth Bell Graham

I've never paid attention to what exactly that song is about...so the guys learned early on in life from listening to this song, just how to give us the runaround?!
You better stop having Trevan listen to it!
After many years of marriage, I've learned that sometimes, it's just easier to fix it myself! (or wait until my dad comes to town, though sometimes he gives me the runaround too--Some men are just programmed that way!)

(Please note: This comment was not approved by my husband, so don't tell him that I'm on to him!)

Very funny.

My favorite is:
Jeryl: (standing next to the dishwasher) Are the dishes clean or dirty?

And I will say that in my house, it's easy to tell, IF ONE WOULD JUST LOOK, as I put them in good and dirty.

I think 95% of men are this way.

LOL!! Nicole, your secret is safe with me. Heather, I'm sorry Jeryl is so much like Jeremy. ;)

Oops, I put that comment on the wrong post. But don't worry, I have come to grips with it - mostly.

Here's my favorite marriage quote:

"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."
— Gordon B. Hinckley

You know I'm bananas about my husband, but I truly believe this.
