So, I know I already deserve The Mother of the Year Award, but now I really deserve it for finally taking my kids to the dentist - for the first time! I know you are supposed to take them when they are two, but Trevan and Mallary went today for the first time (ages 7 and almost 4).
They did so good, and I couldn't help myself by telling them how proud I was of them over and over and over.
Trevan has been nervous about going for a while, even to the point of tears welling up in his eyes just talking about it. I was able to get Mallary on board about going to the dentist after I got back from the dentist a few weeks ago, and she only started crying when the dentist came in. She had already had her teeth cleaned, but she started crying. She got over it pretty quickly though, and was excited about her princess toothbrush. It did make it easier that their dentist had game boys for them to play while they were in the chair for a little while.
No cavities or anything, thank goodness.
It was a proud mothering moment to see my kids be so brave!!

So lucky not to have cavities!
Mine have never cried, but we sure have had cavities. Well, Kate did cry a little when having some filled, but I can't fault her for that. I don't think it's necessary to take them at two. Good grief. Of course, I'm probably not the best person to take advice from in this matter . . . .
