Just like me?

Or John?

Before going to bed on Sunday night, John and I were talking about Trevan, and how he's having a hard time listening lately...

John: "He's just like you."

Holly: "What? I'm not a good listener???"

John: "No, he just likes to go to the beat of his own drum."

Holly: "Oh, that's what I'm like?"

John: "Yeah, you like to be different - you try to be different. Ask your friends, they'd agree with me."

Holly: "Okay, whatever. But, I don't think that's why Trevan isn't listening..."

After sharing this conversation with my sister, she said, "and John doesn't go to the beat of his own drum?"

Exactly!

I give you Exhibit A:

I had a pile of alterations, mending, etc. in my work room for a LONG time.... For Christmas, I decided to actually go through it, do all of John's stuff, and wrap them up for one of his Christmas presents.

In that pile, was a pair of pajama pants I gave him last year for Christmas (or the year before...) but they needed to be hemmed, and I never got around to it... So, I hemmed those, repaired another pair of pants, and then came to the pajama pants you see in the above picture...

The thing with those: John had those pajama pants for a long time, but then he stepped on the hem and they ripped up to his shin. A while ago, he asked me to hem them into CAPRI pajama pants for him. I said, 'no,' because I thought it was stupid. But, when I was doing his other stuff for Christmas, I thought I might as well, and I knew he would be really surprised. So, I did it. He opened them at Christmas, and immediately put them on.

Man - pri pajama pants? I'm sorry, who goes to the beat of their own drum?????

Ha ha ha. I gotta admit - when I saw him wearing those at Christmas I did have to look twice . . .

It's great he's not a slave to public opinion!

Oh, this reminds of the time your dad went on a walk wearing woman's culottes. So John is just fitting in with the family.
