Kindergarten woes

Today was pajama day at Trevan's school.

Today was also the that latest John and Trevan have ever left the house in the morning to take Trevan to school.

Trevan wanted to wear some spider man pajamas that he took out of my 'to pack away' pile because they were too small... We wouldn't let him - they were TOO SMALL. He looked so silly.

We are talking tears (his part), frustration (both parts), and total annoyance (again both parts).

No one was budging.

I even made doughnuts for breakfast, and that didn't entice him to get some other pajamas on to come down to eat!

Eventually, he came down wearing different pajamas -

which should have also been in my 'to pack away' pile.

Oh well.

They weren't quite as bad as the spider man ones.

Because of all the drama, I realized later that he forgot to take his show and tell item. But, I forgot to remind him...

AND, yesterday I forgot to pack him a snack.

Which wouldn't be so bad if the following had never happened:

The teacher has snacks at her desk in case kids forget to bring a snack. Trevan one day realized that if he conveniently left his snack that I packed in his back pack, the teacher would think he didn't have a snack and give him the class 'just in case' snacks. Those snacks consisted of gummy bears and such at the time - so of course Trevan is going to give up some graham crackers for gummy bears! I emailed the teacher letting her know what Trevan was doing, and told her not to worry because I would never forget to pack Trevan a snack...

Never say never. But, hey that's pretty good right? I've only forgotten once in five months of school?

But, now I've forgotten two things in two days.

At least he makes it to school at all...

even if he's wearing pajamas that are too small.

(The chocolate doughnuts were really New Orleans Beignets - see them HERE)

Kate's class has each parent take a turn bringing in snack for the whole class. Ends up being about once a month. And, yep, I forgot once. So I didn't just let Kate down - I let down the whole class! I think the teacher had leftovers from other days, but I still felt irresponsible.

Ugh, I can't stand when the kids "accidently" get into the too small clothes and think they look just fine.
