Start of Christmas

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we went and got our Christmas tree. We went to this new place where you could pick and cut your own. It was so fun! The place had a barn where they had a fire place in where they served cookies, hot chocolate, and hot dogs. It was so cute! The kids had a blast. I can't get them to stand still to take a picture to save my life!

They spent a lot of time running around chasing each other, they really could have cared less about a Christmas tree.

Someone needed to go potty...

We ended up getting a Scotch Pine. I didn't even take a picture of it! By that time I was done trying to corral our children anymore.

Our tradition is to decorate the Christmas tree the first Monday after Thanksgiving for Family Home Evening. We let the kids open thier Christmas ornaments for that year before we start.
I try to get them an ornament that means something from this past year.

Trevan's was a school ornament since he started Kindergarten this year.

I was having a hard time coming up with an ornament for Mallary, and finally decided to go with an ornament from Snapfish with a picture of her on it where she had drawn circles all over herself with markers. That pretty much summed up her year...

The kids opened Jonah's ornament.

Jonah seemed to like his ornament. I think he thought it was a big cookie!

We try to get a nice ornament for our kids for their first Christmases. I ordered mine at Wendell August. I wish I could order lots of stuff from here. If you want a personalized ornament, this is the place to get it from. Plus, it's made in the USA!

Hanging their ornaments.

I just realized I didn't take a picture of the finished tree, and I'm too lazy to do it right now. We'll do it later...
I have one more tree to decorate, and then I'll be done!
