Trevan will spend the majority of his day literally running around my house. The running is usually accompanied by gun noises, fight noises, occassional kicks and punches.
A few months back, I made a new rule in our house - NO RUNNING!
I say these two phrases about a billion times a day, "What's the rule?" and "If you want to run, put on your shoes, and go OUTSIDE!"
He has only taken me up on that offer twice.
Today, he was running. I asked him to stop WAY too many times. I get to throw away a toy (I know, I'm mean...) because he didn't listen. He's sad. I say,
"If you want to run, put your shoes on, and go outside."
He meekly says, "But there's not enough room out there."
I try to repress my sudden urge to smile, and ask "What do you mean there's not enough room????"
"There's two fences," he said.
He kills me.

Mine don't run all the time like that, but when they do it's the same thing. For some reason it's just not as fun to run outside.
