The Calm Amongst the Storm

Really...

I let Jonah sleep among the kids running and playing around him, so I won't have a baby that has to have complete silence to sleep. It's pretty funny.

Mallary loves to hold Jonah. This day she actually put him to sleep. It sounds like she calls him, "Donut."

Back in the day when I could still lay him on the couch. I can't anymore, he moves too much.

I wish I was more like my mother.

She was a ray of sunshine; always smiling, so positive, encouraging, and constantly serving others. She was an angel with a heart of gold.

My mom would call me "Sunshine" to emphasize the fact that I wasn't so cheery. She often said, "Good Morning Sunshine," just to be facetious. Once, in a letter to me, she wrote, "on a good day, you are a ray of sunshine."

So, witness my efforts to become more like my mother as I try to focus on the positive, and serve others more. I want her legacy of love to live on in me.

Many women are afraid of becoming like their mother; I'm afraid I won't.
