Summer Beach Trip #2

The weekend after the fair we went to Mrytle Beach. It was on my agenda to do that this past summer, and we squeezed it in the last weekend that we could. The water was so perfect, I could have stayed in it all day, but we have kids, and we can't do that. I got in some good boogy boarding, a few naps, some shopping, and yummy seafood. We actually ate at the same seafood buffet two nights in a row it was so yummy.

The hotel we stayed in had a bowling alley, so we decided to do a little bowling one morning before hitting the beach.

I realized when naming my children that people would have issues with their names. Maybe I'm used to it. You would think Holly is a pretty straightforward name, right? Wrong. Hollie, Holli, Holley, sometimes people even forget an 'L' - making me Holy. Often, especially on the phone people think I am saying Polly, and occasionally I'll get a Paulene. This day was such an occasion. At most bowling alleys you can enter your own names, this particular one the workers do, and this is what we got - three misspelled names:

These pants got put in the yard sale box after seeing this picture. Why was I still wearing them?

Trevan receiving his bowling instructions.

I forgot to pack Trevan socks, so he had to wear a pair of Mallary's - he wasn't very happy about it, but he got over it.

Trevan celebrating after a good bowl.

Trevan loved giving high fives after he bowled!

They are so cute.

Trevan wanted to bowl all by himself, he didn't want to use the kiddie roller thingy.

The final score - Trevan kicked our butts. (Bumpers)
My cute little beach bums.

At first, Mallary preferred sitting on the chair and playing with the sand, then actually sitting in the sand.

Her favorite was throwing the sand; a skill she learned from her big brother.

I took a little nappy, nappy and was not happy about being stirred when Mallary came and wanted to lie down with me. This is not a great picture of me, but it was actually cute how Mallary wanted to snuggle with me - I guess why John felt he needed to take a picture.

Relaxing with mom after playing with dad in the water.

I couldn't resist posting this one.

It started to get a little cold at the end of that day.

As soon as my kids were bathed after a day in the sun, they fell asleep quickly for a little nap before dinner.

The day we left the beach, it was such a beautiful day - it was sooo sad to leave. It was a great family beach trip! Can't wait until next year!!
