Reading the Christmas Story Tradition

My family has always read the Christmas story from the Bible every Christmas Eve. Occasionally we would have a pageant, and put on costumes and act it out. John's family does the same. This year we had a pageant.

Trevan was a cow, and he waited patiently for his part to come.

Our nephew LOVED his costume. He got really upset if someone took it off of him, or if it fell off. It was pretty funny.

We had two Marys. I was the pre-birth Mary, for obvious reasons. John was the donkey.

The angels appearing to the shepherds.

The cow admiring baby Jesus.

The shepherds and their flocks visiting baby Jesus.

The three wise men saw the star and went to baby Jesus bearing gifts.

They bought gold, frankincense, and SPRITE.

John's brother, David, was the narrator.

Sometime during the story, Mallary went and grabbed the baby Jesus and was holding and rocking it. It was seriously the cutest thing ever.

So, I guess we had three Marys.

Mallary made the best one.
