Tuesday Tips - Postponed

I had planned on posting my Tuesday Tips today, but Mallary's taken up most of my free time...

She dumped out her bowl of cereal this morning...

She can now climb up on the kitchen table chairs all by herself (which are bar height) and stands up on them which earned her 4 time outs in a row.

She slapped Trevan in the eye this morning so I have had to wet rags and paper towels for him all morning to put on his eye... (and listened to him cry about it)

She crumbled cookies in the shopping cart, and all over herself at the grocery store...
(AND I let both of my kids push around those kiddy carts at the store, those are like the worst invention ever. I can see how they would be fun, but having my heels run over three times, and Mallary dumping hers, and then eventually deciding she didn't want to push it anymore was a little much...)

Spent all morning wiping her runny nose

She squirted her Go-Gurt all over herself, her clean clothes, and the kitchen floor.

THEN I get on the computer for not even half an hour (and part of that was on the phone with someone while on the computer) and this is what I walk into the kitchen to find..

The time outs this morning meant nothing to her because she climbed up on the chairs again and pulled off all the newspaper and coupons from the Sunday paper that I had on the table.

There were two muffins left in a ziploc bag she reached with her little Go-Gadget arms, opened it and crumbled those all over the floor. (John thinks I willingly give the kids these things and let them go to town in the living room...)

She emptied out the contents in the top of the trashcan which included all the Go-Gurt mess that I had cleaned up before.

THEN I got off the phone because she was screaming so loudly that she wanted to eat, and I warmed up her lasagna...

I come back into my workroom to exit off the internet and hear Trevan from the living room, "Mom, Mallary has her food in here."

She had reached the lasagna (once again with her Go-Gadget arms) taken it to our leather couch and somehow managed to splatter it all over the couch (I mean ALL OVER) in a matter of seconds.

Put her in her high chair

Wiped her nose

She threw her sippy cup

She dumped half her plate of applesauce on the highchair before I could stop her.

All before 12:01 pm

She's down for a nap now... so maybe I can get some work done...

until she wakes up again.

No rest for the weary...

I know it was my choice to be a stay at home mom, but sometimes I wish I were back in an office...

Does that mean my Tuesday Tip would be, think long and hard before choosing to be a stay at home mom?

:)

You know how at some jobs you have to record everything you do in a day? I've thought about doing that so my husband can see that I really am busy during the day...

I guess I can't complain about Marina shaking all the salt out of the shaker onto my newly-vacuumed floor. Could be a lot worse.

Those mini-carts are definitely a mixed blessing. Hate getting them shoved into my heels! Only Sophie and Kate are allowed to use them. I can't see Marina being mature enough for quite some time! And for a while, due to bad behavior, they didn't get to. But lately they've been good, and it's actually helpful for me, since the other two about fill up my cart. So they can carry all the groceries. Heck, the other day at Martin's I made Kate push a regular cart with the groceries, while I pushed the kids! She loved it!

Hope your afternoon went better than your morning!

holy crapola. you just cemented my decision to get a mirena IUD to keep me baby free another few years. :) I kept reading thinking - man, what a day! and then to find out all that happened before noon?? that must be why they make babies so cute.

Update- my afternoon went NO better than my morning. Mallary slept less than an hour due to a dirty diaper, etc. etc... but I was so proud of myself I was able to make dinner and Trevan's birthday party invites and get him to his soccer game early even in the midst of all the chaos!

I forgot to add that yesterday morning Mallary snuck in my craft room while I had the gate down for a moment and in the process of me taking her out of it I put a gash in the side of my calf that is pretty deep. Lovely.

Jen - LOL!!! Seriously.

Oh, and even better, I got home from spin and John said, "the kids were crazy tonight, it was really annoying." I just looked at him and laughed. He picked them up after the soccer game, so he only had them for ONE HOUR before he put them to bed!!!!
