The Report

I must say that yesterday, I was a very patient mother, and didn't have one, not even one, freak out moment.

I didn't lose my cool when Mallary dumped her whole drink on my leg at the movies, or when she was a stinker and wanted to stand outside of the movie theater instead of watch the movie.

I didn't lose my cool when she dumped her plate of food on her head (Her new favorite thing at every meal. She must have gotten a reaction out of us one time she did it, and now enjoys doing it at every meal. I calmly cleaned up her hair this morning as well after she did the same with her cereal. I love it even more when she does it the morning after bath night!).

I was calm during Trevan's whining session at lunch time, and then again at dinner time.

I sat calmly through Mallary's marathon tantrum because I wouldn't let her hold the yogurt cup (she considers yogurt to be finger paint, and I didn't feel like cleaning up the mess).

It may have helped that Laurajane is still here, and I watched the neighbor girl yesterday, and then watched one of my friend's two kids in the evening that helped keep my kids occupied, and the screaming for "mom" to a minimum.

Hooray for a patient mom day!

Have you tried no plate (putting food directly on the tray)? Might slow her down a little.

I don't like cleaning up the tray!!!!! It's so much easier to take the plate to the sink. But, lately, I end up cleaning it up anyway... Hmmm... Good suggestion.

Yeah, I hate cleaning the tray, too. But if you're going to have to clean it anyway . . .
