A few of you know about my thing with swimsuits. I have A LOT. Too embarrassed to count them and give you a number (not really embarrassed, but I don't want to). Bathing suits and cover ups fill up one drawer and overflow to another. Seriously. (They are narrow drawers though) I have always liked having a lot of bathing suits, and every summer I am a different size so I have quite a few in each different size. I even have four maternity bathing suits that are packed away. It's not that I enjoy how I look in bathing suits, but it is like some kind of quest to find one that is good for my body shape, hides the fat in the places that I want it to, and is semi flattering. I think I have bought a few that didn't do that too... Plus, I HATE putting on a wet swimsuit. When you go on vacation or to the beach for a week, I hate putting on a wet swimsuit the next day, even if it is just going to get wet again. I know you probably couldn't have lived today without knowing all this about me, so you're welcome.
Anyway, when we were redecorating and painting I had to clean out my cedar chest so we could move it to another room and I found this little number in the bottom of it...

Oh yes. I wore vintage before vintage was cool. In high school I found a swimsuit similar to the one above at the Salvation Army, loved it, bought it, wore it a lot, took it to college and roommates wore it a lot, and then I gave it to one of my roommates after I found the one above in college at some thrift store. I have a picture with us both wearing them somewhere, but I'm too lazy to find it, and I am sure I look funny too. Well, last night I tried it on and was surprised when I could totally zip it up (yes, it has a zipper!). Granted I fill it out a little more, okay a lot more than back then, but it fit.
Isn't it so funny that these styles are back in? Well, not really because they really are more flattering than most bathing suits. I just saw a link on a blog to a bathing suit and clicked on it, and it was the bathing suit I was going to buy last year, but ended up choosing a different one. I showed John last night who was there when I almost bought it, and he said, "How come you didn't get that again?" I may have to make a trip to Macys...
I found another bathing suit online last night that I LOVED that was this style as well, but as of this morning it was sold out!!!! IT WAS SO CUTE!
I found this one this morning, and it's not bad either...

See you at the pool. I'll be the one trying to rock my granny style swim suits...
