Okay, so I have been a little busy today. I had planned on posting this sooner but I taught preschool today, and I wasn't able to finish an order I had to fill. So, today while uploading all these pictures, I also made 74 hair clippys. Let's just say my fingers hurt. (and I still have more to do) Anyway, technically it is still today (11:58), so here we go.
Anyway, this is my trip. Just consider me your tour guide...
Let's go to Oahu!!
So, I went on a trip to Oahu, Hawaii with my two sisters and my dad. I guess you could say the ultimate daddy - daughter date.
It started well over a year ago when we wanted to plan a surprise family trip to Hawaii for my Dad's 60th birthday. My dad had also planned two previous trips that he had to cancel to take my mom, but when the time came around to them she was too ill. They loved Hawaii and went quite a few times. So, we ended up going at the same time my mom passed away last year.
I literally didn't plan a thing for this trip. I didn't finish packing until the day I had to leave. It didn't really hit me that we were going until the night before, then I got excited! I was excited to go because I had my built in tour guides. Marianne went to BYU-Hawaii, and lived there for about a year after graduating, and this was my dad's ninth trip (8 or 9?), so I knew I would be shown the sites.
We didn't want to check any bags, so we packed light. I mean, really light. I have never packed this little for any trip ever, even a quick weekend trip. I am the person that got "the everything but the kitchen sink award" at girls camp. I like to be prepared. Anyway, so this was huge that I could pack so little for a 10 day trip to Hawaii!!
Waiting in the airport early in the morning. We had to get up at three am to drive to the airport. So, we started out a little sleepy. Marianne stretching while waiting.
My dad arranged for us to fly in a pink plane. He is so thoughtful. Just kidding, but it was very fitting because Candi looooves pink.
Dear Delta, I love your cookies (I had quite a few!). However, my sisters do not like the perfume-laden flight attendants. (Not the actual flight attendants, just the perfume)
After we got in the rental car. Finally there! I really didn't think the flight there was bad at all.
So, while on my trip I read a few books. "No reading in the car!" Marianne's rule, so I read on the beach, at night, on the planes, and after the tenth time of driving by the tent cities (you'll see).
I loved this book! (Jen, you wanted a book to read, here you go!!) I wish I could quote the whole book. I need to go buy it now, because it was my sister's, but I need my own! So good, seriously!
