Does your child scream in the car, or in the high chair,
or in the living room, or anywhere?
Try knock-knock jokes to distract them. (we do this for Mallary all the time)
Mallary started doing this right before Christmas time, but now she adds the “ummm” before her answer like Trevan does when he tells a knock-knock joke. Listen to Trevan’s “ummm” and then listen to Mallarys. So funny.
To save you money on carpet cleaning, have your child wipe their shoes on the back of the front seat of your car, ensuring they will enter the house with squeaky-clean sneakers.
Not enough storage in your kitchen? Just give your one-year-old dishes to throw off the high chair - that should clear up some space. I do advise that you only do this if you have an extra 20 minutes to kill cleaning up shattered glass or ceramic. (Not really in the frame of mind to take pictures of this one, it happens too frequently for me to need a picture to document that it happens. I recently bought my first plastic bowl, and now use paper bowls or plates for her.)
Can’t seem to find time to unload the dishwasher?
Send in reinforcements.
Don’t expect your spatulas to end up in the right drawer though.
Have you ever sat at your kitchen table thinking that the beautiful wood
was just too plain and boring?
Just hand your child a fork minus a plate with food on it,
and you’ll have a table with character in no time!
If you are brave enough to try all these tips,
(or maybe your children already have) I am pretty sure you will need the next one…
I recommend you buckle your children in the car and go for a drive.
Hopefully, they’ll end up like this -

LOL -- you crack me up! What a genius mom you are!
P.S. I love Mallary's green dress. She's such a cutie. :)
Tuesday tips should become a regular. it cracks me up!
oh my gosh. you are the most patient mom with the best sense of humor. i fear i would fail to find the humor in many of these circumstances! your kids are lucky!
no, no. not always patient! the humor sometimes comes later. :) writing this has actually helped me remember to find the humor. I already have material for next week... :)
