My Pregnancy Diary

May 1, 2012

Dear Baby,

I just saw those two pink lines.

Part of me hopes that it's a sign you'll be a girl, but who knows...

I honestly wasn't sure what would appear on that little screen.  I don't really feel pregnant, and part of that scares me, because it seems the same as when I was pregnant and eventually miscarried.  My fingers are crossed.  I just crossed my toes too for good measure...

But, I just want to tell you how excited I am.

It doesn't matter that you'll be number four.  You are already so loved.  I can't wait to snugglebug with you!

Just this morning at breakfast, I watched Trevan and Jonah play at the table, teasing each other, copying each other, and I loved it.  Loved that my kids loved each other, loved that I loved my kids, and in that moment I thought to myself, 'I hope that I'm pregnant.'

I was hoping to see two lines in March (at the latest), but here we are at the first of May.

I just want to apologize to you ahead of time for having your birthday at a weird time of the year...  New Year's Eve?  New Year's Day?  I hope it's neither, but if it is, I promise you'll still have great parties! Just so you know, it wasn't in the plan to have a December/January baby.  I really didn't want to do that to you, but apparently I'm not in charge all the time, because by my clock you totally shouldn't have happened when you did...  but I'm not complaining.

So, keep growing.  Just try to keep it under 11 pounds will you?  You don't need to break any records, or my tail bone.

XOXOXO,

Mom

Saturday Snippets

*  I overheard Trevan asking Mallary what she wanted to be when she grew up, and Mallary said I'm giong to make stuff like Mom.  Trevan replied, "Well, you have to be really smart to be able to do that."  Isn't that the sweetest thing?

*  Last night while driving, the GPS told us to go a funny way, and I was like, "Why is it telling us to go that way?"  John said, "It's confused from when it fell and bonked it's head."  (It had fallen off the windshield a bit earlier.)

*  Jonah said the words, 'house,' and 'church' this morning.  He's finally starting to repeat words too... sometimes.  He is behind, and if he's not saying two word sentances by the end of August he will start speech therapy.  So, it's exciting that he's actually saying words.  Yesterday we had lunch with John at his work, and when one of John's co-workers came over to say hi, before she even said anything, Jonah went up to her, and enthusiastically said, "HI!"

*  I've been sooo sick this week.  I mean, I feel nauseous all the time, but this week was worse for some reason.  It isn't a lot of fun, and there is nothing that helps, whereas usually I can find something to at least distract me from it.  Not this week.  I'm hoping in a few weeks the nausea will go away.

*  It was 106 here yesterday.   Happy summer!!!

I've been kind of tired recently

It's a baby!!!:  Due December 30th
Nausea:  All the time
Laundry:  Not getting done
The other kids?: Excited!  Mallary says it's a girl...
John?:  A little surprised...
Weight gained:  1 or 2 pounds - it varies (to compare, I gained about 12 pounds with Jonah in the first trimester, but I'm starting out heavier this time)
Asked if I'm having twins tally:  1 (and it begins...)

13 week belly

Profile during baby's second photo shoot.  His or Her hands are up by it's face.

If baby doesn't come early (which we can be safe to assume that it won't due to my three cookie cutter labors, and knowing my body needing a little help). I can be induced on December 24th, but will try and talk the Doctor into December 27th.
