There was this period of time when I was in high school that I thought sleep was stupid. "Think of all we could get done if we didn't have to sleep!" That was my mentality. Some may say, I have spent a large part of my lifetime trying to prove that theory...
But, seriously. Think about it...
Last night my two month old baby slept 6.5 hours!!! Really!! What's even more miraculous than that you ask? No, really, definitely more miraculous... I went to bed when he did!!! 10:30 PM!!
It pains me to go to bed that early. However, I am in so much pain (teeth issues) I decided that going to bed and not feeling the pain would be better than staying up and watching nothing on TV.
I mean, really, lately I fall asleep on the couch at about 10:30 most nights anyway and wake up between 1 and 2 AM and go to bed. I'm mourning the loss of my late night hours... I'm guessing they'll return after my baby gets on a more regular schedule???
However, this morning after feeding Everett, I literally rolled out of bed (which takes a lot of core muscles to do quietly in case you are wondering, because I felt them and there aren't really any there...) and sorted the laundry to do today (10 loads), made my grocery list for the week after perusing three grocery store ads online, visited facebook, checked my email, (and blogged) all before 6:30 AM.
I am totally going to rock this day!
I guess getting up early still gives me the quiet time I get at night after the kids go to bed, not as much, but I love getting started early in the morning too! How awesome if our bodies only needed like three hours of sleep, while our kids still needed a lot?!?!?!?!
Gotta go! I hear the baby crying, and John's alarm clock. John's alarm clock woke up Everett, but it isn't waking up John!
Have a good day!!!
