I had my postpartum exam yesterday. Already? Did I sleep through the last month and a half? I guess, in a way, I actually did. I think I fell asleep on the couch by 10:30 almost every night in that time period. No joke.
Earlier this week, I decided my new goal was to get in bed by midnight. It has yet to happen once this week. BUT, I haven't woken up on the couch at 3:00 AM once this week either. So we are getting to bed earlier.
My doctor asked if I was sleep deprived, he was surprised when I answered, "Nope." Then, he said, "Oh, that's right, you gave birth to a six month old."
Yes. Yes, I did.
He weighs almost 15 pounds. He has graduated to size 2 diapers (but, we skip the NB size altogether). He'll soon be six weeks old. Right now he is even wearing a belly shirt because I let Trevan pick his clothes, and he picked one of the three, 0-3 month, outfits we have. But, my big, sweet baby sleeps and eats wonderfully.
There are definite advantages to having a larger baby. Really, the only disadvantage is the toll it takes on your body. A disadvantage I might be able to endure one more time...
That statement also made the Doctor give a surprised look.
Maybe, because my previous statement to him was, "Yes, I'll take that birth control prescription, please."
