Unwanted Christmas Presents Tradition

Isn't it a tradition to receive weird, unsolicited, unwanted gifts for Christmas? Don't you end up with something every year that you wish you could take back?

I personally think I am so easy to buy for. I like, (and want) a lot of things...

My mom thought I was hard to shop for, and hard to please. We just had different tastes. She finally stopped buying me clothes unless my sister was there to pick them out for me. She didn't even buy my kids clothes, unless I picked them out, or unless they were completely plain, solid, etc. She knew I didn't like cartoon characters, cheesy animals, or fru fru things on my kids clothes. I told her I didn't want her to waste her money and buy me something that I would never use. I know that sounds ungrateful, but, I think she understood.

My favorite was when I was sixteen years old, and my Grandma gave my sister and I Power Ranger Soap for Christmas. (She thought they looked pretty....)

A few years ago, John bought me these:

I do like snowflakes, however, large, fake rhinestone covered ones hanging from my ears are not my ideal...

That was a gift I opened, and immediately held them up and said, (while giving my "scrunched eyebrow, you're weird look") "What were you thinking?" He just laughed... I should start wearing them with my festive Christmas sweaters...

I'm sure I've given plenty of unwanted, weird, gifts (in fact we gave a lot of weird gifts this year...), I'm sorry.

What was the unwanted, unsolicited, or weirdest gift you received this year? Come on, share! This is a safe place...

this year my boss gave me a shiny bright yellow crocodile print wallet/change purse. it's truly ugly. she said as soon as she saw it, she knew it was me. Huh. I wonder what message I'm conveying that would make her think that.

That makes a bad gift even worse, "as soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect for you..." Too funny! Love it.

Wow thats funny, My mom always gets overly girly items, ALWAYS. Like Teddy bear earrings with pink hearts and rinestones in them. We were at the store after christmas and she... OH dear totally cute watches and everything so cute. Seriously she was able to find the one watch that had heart band with pink and then a teddy bear face. She was all about this watch and getting it on me. NO WAY IN H@#$ was that going to happen. NO way. we settled with nothing for me and she didn't waster her money- deal!
