Christmas Devotional - Christmas Tradition

The first Sunday of every December is the First Presidency Christmas Devotional done by our church. (You can watch it HERE if you would like to see it.) It is a tradition to go and watch it. It is always wonderful and opens the Christmas season with the true spirit of why we celebrate. I love it.

This year, John didn't want to take Mallary because we wouldn't be able to enjoy it if she was there, and he didn't feel like dealing with her, especially because it would be at her bedtime. I gave Trevan the option of whether or not he wanted to go. I told him, "you can stay home and play with daddy, or come with mommy, but if you come with mommy you have to go put your church clothes back on, and you can't take any toys with you."

There was a little gathering before hand at church to have cookies, and Trevan really liked that part. I told him we were on a date.

Right before the devotional started we were sitting in the pew, I asked him if he was glad he came or if he wanted to go back home to be with daddy?

"I didn't want to miss out on all the fun," he said.

I so enjoyed the devotional and the messages shared, and glad I could share that tradition with Trevan (even though he's been almost every year, he probably just doesn't remember).
