Tuesday Tips

Are you tired of these yet?

Tip #1: DON'T let your kids take crayons in the car, and leave them there... in the hot sun...

Tip #2: DON'T give a water bottle to Mallary...

even if she gives you a cute look...

she won't just take a sip, she'll dump it out... every time. (This also applies to cups of water, and drinks with tops on them at restaurants... she's so fun!)

Tip #3: If I offer to give you a ride somewhere, DON'T accept if Mallary will be in the car.

If you are going to watch these, check the volume on your computer...

I had to post two of these, there were five. After a while of her screaming, I remembered I had my camera in the diaper bag, so I pulled that bad boy out to show John exactly what I had to endure. He was listening to me watch these, and he was like, those are all different videos? (she wanted another sucker, and I didn't want her to have one in the car, so she faked cried and screamed the WHOLE time we were in the car)

It was a BAD shoppping day. I was bound to have one eventually I guess (my kids are normally VERY good shoppers, they usually get LOTS of practice...). I am shopping for a serger, and I couldn't even talk to the lady in the sewing shop because BOTH of my kids were being crazy. It was like they were ganging up against me. Seriously. None of my normal distraction tactics were working. Even the lady at the store looked at Mallary and told her to use her inside voice. She said to me, "I hope you don't mind," (that she had said that), I was like, "Oh, knock yourself out." Mallary doesn't have an inside voice except when she's sleeping... Anyway, I continued shopping (torturing myself), and I was supposed to call John and tell him where to meet me for dinner, and my cell phone was dead, adding to my fabulous afternoon. Let's just say by the time John met me for dinner I was at the end of my rope, actually I had already let go... As we were walking into the cafe I said to John, "Can I eat at a table all by myself?" I wasn't really kidding... While we were waiting for John to bring the food, I looked at Trevan and asked, "Why were you having such a hard time listening today?" He thought about it, and replied, "It's because of the color purple." Huh?

Tip#4: DO take your kids to do fun things!

I finally did my first tourist-y thing after living here for over two years! (Sorry, I don't give locations on my blog when it has to do with where I live. Have you noticed?) The kids had fun, I had fun, I need to get out and do more here. There is so much to do!!

You know what's so funny? When I sat down to do this I almost didn't do it because I thought I only had one tip to share... Never a dull moment.

Hey Holly! Wow! You have one of those loud constant screamers in your car too! Kevin is ours! No matter how happy he is, binkie or no binkie, toy or no toy, he usually sounds JUST like that! What is up with kid #2? It does not make me excited to see what more might be like back there! :0)
